A short update on the years shortest month

This month was packed, and that’s the reason why my February update is a couple of days late. But I would rather have a shorter post than no post at all.

My workdays have been anything but quiet, and taking over a team has proven to be a challenge. I’m slowly getting the feel for my new role, and have made adjustments that I think are for the better. This means less development for me, which is a bummer — but I’m planning to have more dedicated time for it going forward.

On the personal side there hasn’t been much traditional development either, but I got my new Zimaboard NAS set up and have been tinkering with my homelab setup. This is my next move away from big tech, and so far I’m pleased with its capabilities. Over time it will replace my old server, with better storage and proper backup. I just have to move everything over first. I might write about the whole setup some other time.

March has a lot of promising stuff happening. A big tech conference is coming up next week, and I’m having a trip back home to see my family!
