April

Generally April has been a good month. Life’s easier when the sun is back and the days gets longer and warmer. The weather affects us in a big way, when our only mode of transportation is by bike.

Work

This month I started working in a new team. Going from working on a application for internal use to the company’s main web application is a change for the better. I have more frontend related tasks which spans from everything from accessibility improvements to architecture decicions. The last week I wrote a library for use between applications. That’s a first!

Development

Outside of work I have tried to get this blog up and running again. As with every side project, there is always things to tweak or improve. This time around I decided to get rid of Tailwind and write plain “old” CSS. There is still a long way to go, but I’m happy with the results so far. The hardest part is to make the typography right, and structure my styling in a good way. But thats also most enjoyable part.

Gaming

I also started up a new bi-weekly RPG campaign this month. We are playing The One Ring 2nd Edition, a game I kickstarted three years ago and wanted to play ever since. The game feels like a perfect balance between crunchy and narrative, and gives a lot of freedom for the GM while also keeping it very LoTR-like.

The Last of Us Part 1

Finally got around to watch this show. My expectations where high as I regard the story one of the best of all time. I’m glad the show didn’t deviate from game much, and kept the story as is. The episode with Bill and Frank elevated the story even further. We have already started watching part 2 when each episode launches.

Does this count as a rewatch, when I played the games?

The Book that held her heart - Mark Lawrence

The final book of The Library Trilogy came out this month, and so far I really loved this series. The style is fresh, the characters unique and I love how the story is told in layers. Looking forward to see what the third book holds.
